PS Eye XMB Support - Where using the PS Eye, you can use your hands to drag the XMB icons, and access different media, all without a controller. With Tom Clancy's EndWar supposedly using a similar feature where you use your hands to pan around the battlefield, this feature is definitely something that could be on the way.

Video and Pic Sceen Capture in All Games- With the Japanese game "Mainichi Issh" allowing you to upload videos directly to YouTube right from in-game. This feature could very well be on its way. Imagine having the ability to upload your most amazing gaming feats to YouTube, and capture screenshots too. PixelJunk Eden already has this feature. It has been available to devs since firmware 2.2 but Q-Games (PixelJunk Eden) was the first devolper to put it in a game.

Charging Controllers While in Standby

Multiple PSN Logins

Ridiculous But Possible - PS3 40 GB may be able to play PS2 games near the end of 2008.

In-Game Video and Voice Chat - Via a PS Eye or regular headset.

In-Game Custom Soundtracks - In every game, not just if the devolper has allowed it.

The Ability to Pair and Cycle Themes and Backgrounds - eg. Cycle one theme and backgrounds combo on Tuesday, another on Wednesdays, Etc, there are so manty cool themes, but you're restricted to use one all the time.

The Ability to IM Friends - Instead of the extremely long send a message, you got a message, etc.

More In-Depth Profile - Than John - Trophies, Name, Languages. I'll take a watered down myspace or facebook where you can favourite certain games and videos, pick wallpapers, etc. This is being implemented in Home but with Second Life mixed in.

Video Streaming - I spend 30 minutes of my time waiting on a trailers to load, watch it for 2.5 minutes, playlist it and hope to god a friend will say 'do you have that new Fallout trailer??'

Hi I have a question (I just realised I am a total noob). But are all these new firmwares automatic updates? I am pretty sure that My ps3 is updated since every time I get the message saying an update is required to play this game or an update is available I download it. But still I can't change my background. Why am I such a newb and how do I change my background???metalpower08

To update you go to [Settings] > [System Update] to see if you are up to date (if you have online). If you are up to date then you scroll down to [Theme Settings] and choose a theme, background, etc.

I Want PS2 compatibility With The 40GB :(man_diesel789

I'm kind of hoping they don't. I mean, it would be a good thing for a lot of people and a sensible move, but I bought my 80GB MGS bundle under the impression that BC was never coming back. If it does I'll be pissed, as I'll have essentially paid $50 for a card reader and two USB ports.
